Shahjalal Islami Bank Limited donated Tk5 Lakh to Bangladesh Thalassaemia Hospital to facilitate and accelerate better treatment for the patients.
Managing Director of the bank Farman R Chowdhury handed over the Cheque with a formal ceremony organized by the hospital to Omar Golam Rabbany, Chairman of Bangladesh Thalassaemia Hospital & President of Bangladesh Thalassaemia Samity on Saturday.
Thalassaemia is a genetical chronic anemia. If father and mother bear this diseases Gene, their newborn child may be affected by it.
It is found in a recent survey that there are 10-12% percent and near about 1.5 corer People of Bangladesh are the bearer of this diseases. At present there this diseases are affecting are 30 thousand children are suffering and 7 thousand at the time of their birth. Most of the European Countries could reduce this disease in 2% percent by creating awareness among people. It is very urgent to make awareness in our country’s people to prevent these fetal diseases drastically. Only awareness is the main ingredient for preventing Thalassaemia.
Among others the Project Development Consultant of Bangladesh Thalassaemia Hospital Dr A KM Ekramul Hossain Shawpan and VP and Head of Public Relations Division of Shahjalal Islami Bank Ltd Md Shamsuddoha were present in the occasion.
