Ikramul Haq Siam of Brac University emerged unbeaten champion in the Shaheed Kazi Sadek Hasan International Rapid Chess Tournament held at Bangladesh Chess Federation hallroom on Friday.
Siam earned maximum seven points from seven matches to clinch the title while FM Mohammad Fahad Rahman of Titas Club finished runnerup by tie-breaking system as the eight players earned six points each.
The remaining seven placed, Anisuzzaman Jewel of Mir Chess (3rd), CM Monir Hossain of Leonine Chess (4th), Jamal Uddin of Pritam-Prism (5th), IM Mohammad Minhaz Uddin of Bangladesh Navy (6th), FM Mehdi Hasan Parag of Leonine (7th), Abzid Rahman of Sonali Bank (8th) and Sheikh Md Khairul Islam of Sultana Kamal Pathagar (9th) with identical six points apiece by tie-breaking system. Mujibur Rahman became 10th with 5.5 points.
