Asad Alam Siam, who is currently serving as Chief of Protocol in the ministry of foreign affairs, has been appointed as the next Ambassador of Bangladesh to Philippines.
Asad Alam will be replacing Major General John Gomes, a foreign ministry press release said here on Sunday.
Asad Alam Siam, a career diplomat, joined Foreign Service in 1995 and before taking over as Chief of Protocol, he served as Director General in charge of Europe Wing in the Ministry.
In his distinguished diplomatic career, he served as the Consul General of Bangladesh in Milan, Italy and as the Assistant High Commissioner of Bangladesh in Manchester, UK.
He also served in Bangladesh Missions in Jakarta and Bangkok in different capacities.
Asad Alam Siam did his graduation in Architecture from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET).
He also did MBA from Maastricht School of Management, the Netherlands.
He is married and blessed with a daughter.
