A Sub-Inspector of Araihazar Police Station was withdrawn to Narayanganj District Police Lines on Friday night on charge of releasing three infamous drug traders after taking bribe from them.
The SI’s name is Rakib, who was posted at Gopaldi Police Investigation Centre, said Shariful Islam, Inspector (Investigation) of Araihazar Police Station.
He said that the action was taken against Rakib for giving chance to free the detained drug traders

in exchange of Tk 1.10 lakh.
A team of police arrested the drug peddlers along with 460 bottles of Phensidyle at Biswanandi Ferryghat on Thursday night, the Inspector said.
They will face legal action if the investigation team found guilty, he added.
