A court in Dhaka has ordered to send a Sub-Inspector (SI) of Police to jail in connection with raping a teenage girl and video recording through mobile phone.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Sadbir Yeasin Ahsan Chowdhury on Friday passed the order when Abdur Rakib Khan Bappy, SI of the Mirpur Model Police Station was produced before the court in connection with the rape case filed with the Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Statio, said OC Jane Al Fakir.
The court set January 7 for hearing the case, the OC said.
Meanwhile, Police have sent the victim to One Stop Crisis Center at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) to conduct her medical test.
Earlier, Bappy was arrested from the capital’s Agargaon Taltola on rape charges after the victim sued him in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar police, he said.
On Thursday, the teenage girl lodged a case against SI Bappy with Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station accusing him of raping and videotaping the acts.
The victim said that they have been continuing love affairs for the last five years.
Amid this, he several times raped her with promise of marriage but recently he has started dilly-dallying to keep his pledge.
She said, “Bappy called me in a house in city’s Agargaon on Thursday morning. After she went there, he showed her some obscene videos. Then, he forcefully violated her intimidating to circulate the video on social media.”
“From there I straightly came to Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station. His family and police tried much to convince me to come a settlement but I registered the lawsuit, ” the victim said.
