Court Correspondent :A Dhaka court on Monday indicted a Sub-Inspector of Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station of the city in a case filed for alleged attempt to kill a person in a false gunfight.Ali Masud Sheikh, Second Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate of Dhaka passed the order Under Section 326 of the Penal Code.Accused SI Anwar Hossain, who was earlier granted bail was present in the court during the hearing. Advocate Aminul Gani Tito filed a petition seeking the discharge of Anwar while the court rejected it.The brief prosecution story says that accused Anwar was acquainted with Shanta Akhter, wife of victim Shah Alam. Once, he would drive a car of Mohammadpur.Police Station and for that, Anwar got acquainted with Shanta. Later, Anwar developed unethical relation with Shanta. Shah Alam opposed it and that made Anwar furious. Anwar, later, created the gunfight and shot at the legs of Shah Alam. Besides, he filed a false case with the concerned police station against Shah Alam in connection with the false gunfight.
