DB police in a drive arrested two persons, including a Sub-Inspector of Police with 8,000 Yaba tablets and huge quantities of hemp from a Government Guest House of the Zila Parishad Dakbunglow under Pirganj upazila of Thakurgaon district on Sunday noon.
The arrested persons are Helal Uddin Pramanik, Sub-Inspector of Thakurgaon police, and Manik, sweeper of Pirganj Police Station.
Superintendent of Police (SP) of Thakurgaon district Mohammad Moniruzzaman said that some drug traders admitted at the time of interrogation that SI Helal and Sweeper Manik were involved in Yaba business for a long time. On this basis, DB police raided the rented house of SI Helal and arrested him with 8000 Yaba pills and two kg hemp from the spot.
