SI Anwar on 2-day remand

A Dhaka court on Thursday placed a Police Sub-Inspector of Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station on a two-day remand in a case filed for shooting a CNG-run auto-rickshaw driver in connection with extramarital affair.
Magistrate Maruf Hossain of the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka passed the order on Thursday afternoon after Detective Branch (DB) Inspector and also the Investigation Officer (IO) of the case Humayun Kabir produced the accused SI Anwar Hossain to his court seeking a ten-day remand.
On October 19, auto-rickshaw driver Shah Alam, 27, was shot in the legs in the capital’s Agargaon area and later he was shown arrested in an arms case.
Shah Alam’s brother Md Golam Mostafa filed a case in this connection on Wednesday. The victim is now undergoing treatment at the NITOR at Agargaon in the capital.
Accused Anwar hails from Shariatpur and he joined Bangladesh Police as a sub-inspector in 2007. He was working with the police station for more than a year.
Earlier, he worked with Mohammadpur and Adabar police stations of the capital.
