The Shyampur Sugar Mills Ltd (SSML) under Badarganj upazila here launched crushing sugarcane for the 2014-2015 seasons on Friday to produce 5,075 tonne sugar from 70,000 tonne sugarcane.
Member of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Industries Ministry Abul Kalam Mohammad Ahsanul Haque Chowdhury Deuk, MP, formally launched crushing of sugarcane at a ceremony arranged SSML premises at Shyampur as the chief guest.
Language veteran and valiant freedom fighter Majibar Rahman Master, Badarganj upazila chairman Fazle rabbi Sweet, Chief Engineer of Bangladesh Sugar were special guests.
