Shyama Prosad Adhikari has been made Chief Engineer of the Local Government and Engineering Department (LGED). He replaced Md Wahidur Rahman as the one-year contractual tenure of the former ended on Thursday.
Engineer Shayma Prosad Adhikari was serving as Additional Chief Engineer of LGED before he took the charge as the Chief Engineer on Thursday.
Sources at the LGED headquarters said Shayma Prosad Adhikari joined the then Rural Works Programme as Assistant Engineer in 1981 and he served various important posts, including executive engineer, superintendent Engineer and project director, earlier.
