Entertainment Desk :
Renowned Indian director Shyam Benegal expressed disappointment over the social media outrage regarding the trailer of the much-hyped movie Mujib: The Making of a Nation.
The director told Telegraph Online that he finds it really difficult to comprehend how the Bangladeshi audience would be this upset with the trailer.
He further stressed that one cannot judge an entire movie based on a 90-second trailer. They can comment on the trailer but it’s ridiculous to comment to pass comments on the whole movie.
The director of Mujib: The Making of a Nation also addressed the casting of key characters in the film.
He stated that he took Bangladeshi actors as they have more intimate ideas about the ideologies of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and that he is truly ‘baffled’ by all the ‘negative reaction’ regarding the portrayal of Bangabandhu in the movie.
The trailer of Mujib: The Making of a Nation was unveiled in the Marché du Film Commercial Branch at the Indian pavilion of the Cannes Film Festival on May 19. Most of the users have called out the film for its poor VFX effect and lack of attention to detail.
