Retail chain Shwapno has been started its export journey in abroad from now. Continuation its new journey, first consignment of the retail giant already consisted of pointed gourds, lady fingers, green mangoes, potatoes, bitter gourd and 26 other items of vegetables and fruits, which were exported to Hong Kong market. The company also already exported its Certified Bottle Gourds, said a press release.
Regarding its new journey, Saiful Alam, export initiative advisor and team leader of the company said that Shwapno has started our mission through exporting vegetables. Even though other items were exported before, we have included mangoes in our export category this time. Recently, we exported 100kgs of ‘Gonbindhobhog’ variety of mangoes to Hong Kong from some selected orchards in Satkhira. We did it with the help of Solidaridad Network Asia. SHWAPNO’s Head of Business (Protein and Perishables) Md. Mahadi Faisal said, ‘Shwapno is the first retail member of GLOBAL G.A.P. in South East Asia. USAID’s feed the future program has fully supported us in this journey of ensuring safe food for global consumers. Now onwards, Shwapno will be exporting seven types of products to various countries including United Arab Emirates, Australia, USA and UK.”
