Chattogram City Corporation Administrator Khorshed Alam Sujon has proposed to launch at least four pairs of trains on the Dohazari route to facilitate communication between the city dwellers and Bangabandhu Silpanagar City in Mirsarai and to ease passengers, travelling in Dohazari line. CCC administrator made the proposal after meeting Railway Miniser Nurul Islam Sujan MP on Monday in the Secretariat.
He said if the shuttle train is introduced, it will be easier for all classes of workers and employees to travel with Bangabandhu Industrial City.
Fazle Hossain Badshah MP and Railway Ministry Secretary Mohammad Selim Reza were present at the time.
CCC administrator informed the Railway Minister about the cancellation of the allotment of land in Madarbari area of the city and the payment of money for the development of the land and the cancellation of the allotment of the land despite the possession of the city corporation. After hearing the statement of the administrator, the Minister assured to resolve it.
Administrator requested the Minister to renovate the container-laden railway line at Chattogram port and increase the bogies, to renovate the railway workshop at Pahartali, to introduce multi- multi-storey parking in front of the new railway station in the city.
In order to reduce the container congestion in the port, the minister took seriously Sujan’s proposal to increase the number of bogies along with the railway line.
Railway Minister Nurul Islam hoped that he would be able to visit Chattogram at a convenient time and inspect the proposed sites of the CCC administrator and make a positive decision in this regard soon, a CCC sources said.
