AMONG score of daily brutalities Israeli forces raided and shut a Palestinian radio station in the West Bank city of Hebron on Friday blaming it for inciting people to join uprising against the occupation. It is the second such shutdown of a radio station this month in Hebron city to gag the voice of resistance to Israeli brutalities and mindless killing of men, women and children, particularly the young Palestinian people who want to break the occupation to make their land free.
The new generation Palestinians don’t know what is freedom and liberty but they want to grow in freedom and live in dignity. So their resistance against Israeli occupation has slowly taken the shape of a new uprising. Fearless stone throwing Palestinian boys and girls are fighting Israeli forces’ live bullets in the streets. The latest casualty figures showed 87 Palestinians killed as against 17 on the Israeli side. As it appears the Palestinians without arms and ammunition are only throwing stones and using knife to terrorize the Israelis in the West Bank and East Jerusalem to force them to end the occupation.
The shutting of the radio stations appears to be among so many restrictive steps to keep the uprising from gaining momentum. They are also routinely destroying homes of resistant fighters, delisting their resident permits and putting them in jail. The Netanyahu government is doing everything defying the world opinion that is clearly war crimes and crimes against humanity. They have become ruthless with US and Western support and using arms and money that America gives to the brutal Zionist regime solely committed to wipe out the Palestinian people from their land. They are building settlements one after another in the West Bank while the USA is playing the role of deceptive peacemaker and the Western powers are lending support to Israeli blackmail.
The Palestinian leaders feel totally betrayed leaving no option for young Palestinians but to be radicalised. The Israelis saw such uprising twice during the lifetime of legendary Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat who was reportedly poisoned to death to destroy the resistance. Nobody but Israel is at fault for its inability not to live in peace and coexistence with Palestine.
