Sheikh Arif Bulbon :Now the ‘jingle queen’ of Bangladesh, Shumona Haque is not seen to render songs. This noted singer has been passing days silently. In fact, now she is engaged with hew drawing rather than rendering song. Earlier she had planned to arrange her solo exhibition this year. Due to country’s present situation, she has decided not to organize any show right now. However, she does not stop drawing. In the meantime, she is very absent to render any song in TV show.Shumona will be watched on the screen of BTV to render Tagore song in a special programme titled Bhalo Jodi Basho Sokhi on Srabon 22. Produced by Syed Zaman and under the planning of Nargis Rahman Shumona will perform in the programme.While talking with her Shumona informed that she will render the song titled Tumi robey nirobey in that programme. Recording of the song is scheduled to be held on August 3. The programme will be hosted by National Film Award winner lyricist Kabir Bakul.Today is Shumona Haque’s birthday. She wants to pass the day by own way. While talking in this regard Shumona said, “On the occasion of Srabon 22, I am going to render the song. Now I cannot become regular in music, in fact I have no intention in this regard. Only for my mental satisfaction, I will render the song. I request the viewers to watch the programme. Though today is my birthday but I have no special plan to celebrate my birthday. Like other days, I will pass the day. Everybody pray for me as I can remain well.” It may be mentioned that in 2010, Shumona Haque’s first solo album Tumi Robey Nirobey was released under the banner of Bengal Music. There were 11 songs in the album. Rafiqul Alam, Samina Chowdhury and Nargis Rahman will also render songs in the programme.
