In the country, the era of Shuchanda began few decades ago. She is still in the hearts of many film lovers. Kohinur Akhter Shuchanda is a successful actress, producer and director. In her lifetime, she got many awards including National Film Award, Pakistan’s Nigar Award, etc. She also took part in the war of independence of Bangladesh.
Today she will get the Lifetime Achievement Award. Organised by Shuvechchha Sangskritik Forum Shuchanda will receive ‘Ananda Binodon Star Awards 2015’ in category of Lifetime Achievement Award at National Museum.
While sharing her feelings to get the award Shuchanda told this correspondent, “Firstly I give thanks to them who are going to honour me. It is a respectable matter for an artist after getting its recognition. I am really grateful in this regard.”
Shuchanda started her acting career by Subhash Dutta’s movie Kagojer Nouka in 1966. But she came into limelight in 1967 to work in Zahir Raihan’s movie Behula. At the end of 1968 she tied the nuptial knot with Zahir Raihan.
Later she also acted in several numbers of Urdu films. Shuchanda directed only movie was Hazar Bochhor Dhorey.
