Ransacking regist office: Show cause notice to 6 BU students, proctors withdraw resignation

Barisal University ( BU) authority has issued show cause notices against six BU students in connection of ransacking register office and injuring officials and staff.
On other hand, the five assistant proctors have formally withdrawn their resignation letters on Monday and started performing duties after 11 days.
The show cause noticed students were Aqib Zaved Khan and Al-Mamun of 3rd-year Marketing, Reza Sharif and Enamul Huq Moni of 3rd-year Management Studies, Saidul Islam of 3rd-year Economics and Mithun Dey of 1st-year Political Science departments.
Manirul Islam, BU acting register and convener of BU officers-staffs solidarity council (Barisal Bishwabidyaloy Karmakarta Karmachari Oikya Parishad) disclosing the facts said the show cause noticed students asked to submit their reply within June 12.
Among the show cause noticed students, the first four also included byname in list of 50-accused in the case lodged on June 7 by Barisal University authourity for ransacking register office, damaging furniture, office equipments, documents and injuring 4 officials and staffs including assistant register, section officers on June 5.
The students were noticed to show cause after the seven-member probe committee submitted their report on June 6 and identified them from the video clips broadcasted and printed in media, the BU register told. Police started investigations and trying to collect photos and video clips printed and broadcasted in media, said Sub Inspector Kabir Hossain, investigation officer of the case.
Prof. Dr.Harunor Rashid Khan, BU vice chancellor, said hard disciplinary action would also be taken against the troublemakers on basis of the report of probe committee and replies of show cause notices by the accused.
The BU officers and staffs continued one-hour work abstention programme in the campus demanding immediate arrest of the accused attackers and assurances of safety and security.
On other hand five assistant proctors, who submitted their resignation letter on May 29 alleging lack of security, financial and logistic supports in performing duty, withdrawn their resignation letters on Monday, June 9. All of these five resigned assistant proctors withdrawn their resignation letters after holding meeting with BU VC who assured them to fulfill demands, said Tanvir Qaiser, on of the resigned assistant proctor and assistant professor English department and secretary of the BU teachers association.
