Show cause notice to 30 BAU students

The administration of Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) issued show cause notice to 30 students under 2012-13 session on Sunday evening for violating rules and regulations of the university.
According to show cause notice, violating the decision of BAU syndicate, students demonstrated in front of administration building and hindered administrative activities which are offensive and conflicting to the rules and regulation. The students are asked to reply within three working days otherwise administration will take unilateral decision about their punishment.
The students who were served show cause notice are Abu Hannan Sarker, Rustom Ali, Sudipto Taluder, Md Abir Hossain, Rayhanuzzaman Sarker, Sadia Afrin Punom, Ferdous Mian and Dulal Sarker of veterinary faculty; Nazmus sayadat, Partho Pritom Das, Akash Anthony Biswas, Rashedul Islam Moon, Puja Sarker, Ria Dey, Rabeya Akter Tonny, Parijat Ball, Sanjida Rashid Seema, Dipozzol kar and Golum Mortuza of agriculture faculty; Zahid Hasan, Sumon Ahmed, Al Amin, Soniya Sultana and Hasan Biswas of Animal Husbandry faculty; Sabrina Tarannum Nufa of agricultural engineering and technology faculty; Nafisa Zaman, Priyanka Saha Tuli, Israt Jahan Montri, Susmita Das and Ashik Mahmud of agricultural economics and rural sociology faculty.
Students alleged, university high-ups threatened and forced us to withdraw the strike accepting the introduced semester fee and other increased regular fees.
BAU proctor Prof Dr Harun-Or-Rashid said, anybody who disobeyed the rules of the university would be punished.
It is mentionable that boycotting their classes and examinations the students were demonstrating on the campus protesting semester fee hike from June 08.
For the students of 2012-13 academic session administration increased form fill-up fee to 1780tk from 300-400tk including newly introduced 1200tk as semester fee.
In 2013, in the face of amid protest authority decided immediately to reduce the fees only for one semester and assured the students about the permanent exclusion through academic council and syndicate. But the academic council in their last meeting held at 21st May denied reducing the imposed fees.
