Boro harvest has been started at 15 unions under Gafargaon Upazila and due to shortage of day labourers it is being hampered seriously.
Bumper production has been achieved but for want of low price farmers are getting frustrated .On the other hand, the wages of agriculture labourers is very high.Farmers have to pay Tk 500 to 550 per day with 3 times meals.
Now it is high time to harvest paddy in full swing. Agriculture office sources said that Boro has been cultivated on 21 thousands 30 hectres of land.
Out of it 6 hundred 40 hectres of land are under electricity. Specially farmers have become very busy to protect paddy field from Nor’wester.
