A mobile court here fined four shops for openly selling petroleum in the district town on Saturday evening.
Executive Magistrate Samiul Islam said at the order of Deputy Commissioner Md Mazedur Rahman Khan, he led a mobile court drive in Badamtali, Nijgachhtala, Dhalirghat Bazar, Bangabandhu Road, Nanupur Baghra Bazar and Bohoria Bazar areas of the town to stop haphazard sale of petroleum.
Four shops were fined Tk 23,000 under the Petroleum Act 2016 during the drive.
