A grocer has been stabbed to death at Poolpar area of Mohammadpur in Dhaka.
The deceased has been identified as Nazrul Islam, 45.
The incident took place around 12pm on Monday.
With a severe injury, he was taken to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College and Hospital, where duty doctors declare him dead, confirmed Dhanmondi police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Abdul Latif.
“On Hossen Shaheb lane, Nazrul was sitting inside his grocery shop. A person named Rahat, 30, went inside the shop and stabbed his chest,” said the OC.
He said, the accused has already been detained and police are trying to know the motive behind the killing.
The body has been sent to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College and Hospital morgue for autopsy.
