Sheikh Arif Bulbon :Popular actress Shomi Kaiser first acted in a TV play where she got Abul Hayat as her co-actor. Directed by late playwright Atiqul Haque Chowdhury Shomi performed with Abul Hayat in play Ke Ba Apon Ke Ba Por. Later Shomi acted under Abul Hayat’s direction in many plays.After a break of 12 years, Shomi Kaiser acted under the direction of Abul Hayat in a drama serial titled Akash-er Oparey Akash. She acted in role of Farzana in this 104-epiosde serial. Basically story of the serial revolves with the character of Shomi. While talking about to cast Shomi under his direction in a play after a break of 12 years noted actor and director Abul Hayat told this correspondent, “Not only my unit but also others are happy that Shomi Kaiser has given time to act in this serial. She is a talented actress. I believe after a long time break her acting in this serial will create interest among the viewers to watch this serial. I am personally grateful to her in this regard.”Shomi Kaiser shared her feelings by this way, “Basically story of the serial focuses on the issue of women empowerment. For this reason, I have shown keen interest to act in this serial. Therefore, Hayat uncle had wished to cast me for his directed any serial for many years. After reading script of the serial despite having engagement with several activities I had agreed to work in this serial. I shall try my level best to present a nice serial to the viewers. I am really grateful to Hayat uncle to give me the opportunity to act in role of Farzana in the serial Akash-er Oparey Akash. This serial will go on air in any satellite channel soon. Shooting of the serial began from Thursday will continue till next 13 days to complete 13 epiosdes, director Abul Hayat said.Besides Shomi Kaiser, Hasan Imam, Laila Hasan, Sharmily Ahmed, Azad Abul Kalam, Shahed Sharif Khan, Raisul Islam Asad, Naznin Hasan Chumky, Jenny, among others, are also acting in different roles in the serial. Abul Hayat’s directed two serials – Bunophul-er Gaan and Medhabi Desh-er Mukh (docu-drama) are being telecasted on Bangladesh Television (BTV) now. Shomi also informed that it is not possible for her to be regular in acting right now.
