Sholakia Eid Jammat held amid security

The country’s largest Eid-ul-Azha congregation was held at historic Sholakia Eidgha in Kishoreganj town amid 4- tier security.
The Eid prayers led by Islamic Thinker Moulana Md Hifzur Rahman began at 9.00 am on Wednesday morning with the participation of huge number of people from different parts of the country.
Devotees started coming to the ground from early morning on the day. They participated in the 191th prayers of Eid-ul-Azha.
However, additional law enforces were deployed to ensure security to the devotees.
Dewan Habat Kha, the sixth generation of Emperer Isha Khan, the ruler of Bengal donated seven acres of land for the Sholakia Maidan.
Close-Circuit Cameras and metal detectors were used at the extrances of the prayer ground. Two special trains ran between Bhariab Bazar-Kishoreganj and Mymensingh-Kishoreganj to facilitie the Muslims joining the contry’s largest Eid gongregation.
The first Eid Jammat was held in 1829 in Sholakia. Moulana Syed Ahamed was the first Imam to conduct the Eid Jamaat attented by about 125000 devotees.
Police Super Md. Masudur Rahman Khaled BPM told The New Nation that, we have taken highest security measures in and around the Sholakia ground with deploying around 1200 police man, two platoons BGB, RAB, APPN and peaceful holding largest Eid Jamaat.
