Bangladesh pacer Shohidul Islam has been ruled out of the upcoming West Indies (WI) tour with a side strain.
The development was confirmed by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) physician Monjurul Hossain Chowdhury on Tuesday.
“Shohidul picked up a side strain during training. It will take him about three to four weeks’ time to recover,” Monjurul told Daily Star.
Right-arm pacer Shohidul, who played his only T20I against Pakistan last year, was included in the Test and T20I squads for the tour.
Bangladesh squad is expected to fly to the West Indies in the first week of June.
The tour will start with two-match Test series on June 16. The second Test match is slated to start on June 24 in St Lucia.
Following the Test series, the two nations will square off in three T20Is starting from July 2 with the final T20I to be played in Guyana on July 7.
The tour will end after the three-match ODI series, which will start on July 10.
