Pace bowler Shohidul Islam helped BCB XI rule the day one against Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) Secretary’s XI in their third four-day match of the Dr. (capt.) K Thimmappiah Memorial Tournament, known as Mini Ranji Trophy on Monday at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
Shohidul claimed 5-20 as BCB XI wrapped KSCA Secretary’s XI for 79 after which they ended the day on 135-3, leading the opponents for 56 runs.
Shohidul was ably supported by Ariful Haque’s 3-22 and Ebadat Hossain 2-36 as the local side could survive for just 41 overs after they were sent to bat first.
In his just second over, Shohidul dealt a double blow, sparking a collapse from which the KSCA Secretary’s XI couldn’t recover.
And as Aridul and Ebadat came up as handy support, they didn’t find any way to deal with Bangladeshi bowlers.
