Bangladesh off-spinner Shohag Gazi was ruled out of the remainder of the Asia Cup after suffering a cut on his right thumb while fielding off his own bowling during Saturday’s Asia Cup match against Afghanistan.
“The cut was caused by the seam and it had to be stitched up. He will need seven to ten days to recover,” said national team physio Vibhav Singh in a press release.
Mahmudullah has been called up to replace Gazi in the Bangladesh squad for the remaining matches, said the BCB press release.
