Ahmed Robbani is a promising lyricist and music composer. More than 50 songs composed by him have been released in his YouTube channel, Folk Bangla Entertainment. Premer Mora, Piriter Gaan Gaiyo, Bela Gelo, Tomai Bhulbona, Pora Hridoy, Premnogor Sokhi, Dorodiyare, etc are his composed mentionable songs. This time popular baul singer of the country Shofi Mondol has rendered a song titled Sai Rabbana under the composition of Ahmed Robbani. Shofi Mondol lent his voice for the song at a studio in the capital’s Mogbazar area on Wednesday Rohan Raz’s musical arrangement. Robiul Islam Badshah has made its music.
While talking about rendering the song Shofi Mondol said, “I have liked title of the song Sai Rabbana. It was my first work with Ahmed Robbani. There is an emotional touch in the lyrics and tunes of the song. There is also touch of Sufism in the song. Overall, it has become a nice song. I have enjoyed rendering the song.”
Ahmed Rabbani said, “To keep in mind the baul singer Shofi Mondol, I have composed lyrics and tunes of the song. As a lyricist and music composer I am very much simple. Shofi Mondol has lent his voice for the song – it was really a great honour to me. This song will be released on my YouTube channel soon.” Ahmed Robbani was former student of Sociology at University of Dhaka. Now he is working as Deputy Director In-charge, District Statistical Office, Thakurgaon under Bangladesh Statistical Bureau.
It is mentioned that Shofi Mondol was born on December 13 in 1952. He got primary lessons in music from his maternal cousin Sabdar Hossain. Later, he received training in classical music from Sri Sadhon Mukherjee of India.
