The Walton 8th Shitoiruy Karate-Do Bangladesh Championship was inaugurated at Nation Sports Council Gymnasium in city on Saturday.
Shitoiruy Karate-Do chief patron ASM Ali Kabir inaugurated the meet as the chief guest while Shitoiruy Karate-Do Union president Sensei Masud Parvez Rubel chaired the event.
After the inauguration of the meet, a technical seminar was held on Saturday while the main competition will start from Sunday morning at the same venue.
Around 300 players from Bangladesh Army, Ansar & VDP, Police and District Sports Associations will compete, split in the Man’s, Women’s and Junior events, in the meet which will be concluded on Monday (Aug 10).
Men’s events are: Single Kata and Group Kata (45kg, 55kg, 60kg, 67kg and 75kg), Kumite Open and Group.
Women’s events are: Single Kata (45kg, 50kg and 61kg) and Kumite Open.
Junior’s event: Single Kata (Under 12 boy’s and girls).
