Today (Friday) is Shishu Prohor. The Bangla Academy has allocated three hours from 11am to 1 pm for the children. The Amar Ekushey Boi Mela will wear a different look with the presence of hundreds of children.
For celebrating Shishu Prohor from 9:30 am, a contest titled “ Shisu-Kishor Sangit Protijogita” will be held today (Friday) in the main stage of the Academy.
Director-General of Bangla Academy Samsuzzaman Khan will preside over the function, while Eminent singer Papiya Sarwar will be present as the chief guest. Anisur Rahman Tonu, Yakub Ali Khan and Sagorika Jamali will remain present as the judges. The final round will be held on 19th February.
One hundred and thirty-one new books landed at Boi Mela on Thursday, the 11th day of the Amar Ekushey Boi Mela.
Of them, 28 Story, 20 Novel, 14 Article, 24 Poetry, 3 Rhyme, 5 child Literature, 10 Biography, 2 Liberation War, 1 drama, 1 Science, 3 Excursion, 2 Health, 1 Computer, 2 Puzzle, 3 Science Fiction and 12 Miscellaneous. Five books were also unveiled on the Nazrul Manch of the Bangla Academy premises yesterday.
The unveiled books are Safalatar Rahsya by Shamsul Alam Juel, Hridoyea Bangabandhu by Rayhan Ahmed, Humayun Ahmeder Sathe Sat-ti Bachhor by Md. Mahbubul Alam, Ekush O Shadinota by Ashraf Uddin Nazu and Bangabandhu Bangali Ahankar by Saida Shiuli.
Some of new books are Tan of Vaskor Chowdhury published by Vinno Choke, Kaleher kotha of R K Chowdhury and Muktijuddah and Samakalin Rajniti published by Ittadhi Grontha Prokash, Operation Mujibnagar of Rafiqur Rashid published by Panjeri Publication, Netar Ashon Grohan of Mohit Kamal published by Bidda Prokash, Bishes Sabishes Obishes of Hanif Sangket and Doeler Upore Akash of Shuvro Alok published by Ananna, Hoisters of Religions and Spiritual traditions in the world of Monaem Sarkar and Koto Katha Mone of Iqbal Hossen published by Parijat Prokashoni, African Safari of Jon tailor published by oitezza, Sera Dosh Golpo of Syed Monjurul Islam and Sunil Sagor Jole of Ferdaus Khan published by Anna Prokash.
A discussion titled“Bangla Academir Hirokjoyonti: Amar Ekushey Granthamela- Otiet Thekey Bartaman” was held in the main stage of the Academy. Emirates Publisher Mohiuddin Ahmed presided over the function while Badiuddin Nazir presented the keynote. Muhammad Jahangir, Jalal Ahmed and Khan Mahbub was participate as the discussant.
A cultural function was held in the main stage of Academy. The artists were Sahin Samad, Kallani Ghose, Mahmud Selim and Haider Hossen, among others.
Today (Friday) at 4:00 pm a discussion titled“ Bangladeshey Nazrul Chorcha: Otiet Thekey Bartaman will be held in the main stage of the Academy. Emirates Professor Rafiqul Islam will preside over the function while DU Professor Rafiqullqh Khan will present the keynote. Mahbubul Haque, Mohit-ul-Alam and Rezauddin Stalin will participate in the discussion. In the evening a facinating cultural function will be held.
