Shishu Prohor specially dedicated to children began on Friday after ten days of the fair started at the Suhrawardy Udyan fairgrounds for four hours.
Kids, cheering with joy, waddled around the Amar Ekushey book fair along with their guardians wearing colourful dresses. Children were running one stall to another in search of their favourite books.
From 11.30am to 12:30 pm, the Sisimpur characters performed at Shishu Chattar. Jalal Ahmed, member-secretary of the book fair management committee, inaugurated the Shishu Chattar.
” Shishu Chattar is specially dedicated for children, and inaugurating Shishu Chattar and the fair back to life with a large gathering of children,” Jalal added after inaugurating Shishu Chattar.
On Shishu Chattar, Ikri, Hallum, Tuktuki, and Shiku, the characters of the Television series Sisimpur, play with children and pleasure them by signing and dancing.
Miftahul Zannat, a student of Class IV of Azimpur Girls School, visited the Book Fair with her mother, said, “I am happy and joyful to come to the fair, especially I am very cheerful having seen the dancing of Sisimpur’s characters.”
“I bought two books, one ghost stories and another rhymes book, I want to buy a lot of books,” Ismat Jahan, a student of Class-VI, said.
Mohsin Mia came to the fair with his daughter, said, “nowadays, in pandemic time, our children pass their time watching cartoons and video series. But, the Shishu Prohor and Sisimpur of the Book Fair give them a healthy pleasure.”
