Bangladesh Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury and Indian Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar stressed the need for exchange of visits by parliamentary delegations to enhance cooperation between the legislatures of two countries.
They focused on the issues when Bangladeshi speaker called on Meira Kumar in New Delhi on Wednesday.
The Indian speaker expressed keenness to extend overall cooperation to strengthen parliamentary activities in Bangladesh. “India attaches much importance to Bangladesh as its neighbour,” she said, adding that India expects stability and prosperity of Bangladesh.
