A delegation of the Shippers’ Council of Bangladesh led by its chairman Rezaul Karim paid a courtesy call on President Abdul Hamid at Bangabhaban on Thursday afternoon.
During the meeting, the delegation apprised the President of various activities of the council.
The delegation apprised the President that the main responsibility of the council is to coordinate with concerned authorities including railway, road communications, freight forwarder, ship owners with a view to transport the goods of foreign trade fairly, quickly and at lower cost.
They also said that the council is playing a role in international arena with a view to maintaining the interest of exporters.
President Abdul Hamid expressed satisfaction over the activities of the council.
Secretaries concerned of the President office were present.
