Noted Dhallywood thespian Shabana, who has been absent from the silver screen for more than 20 years, recently paid a visit to another celebrity couple Alamgir and Runa Laila along with her producer husband Wahid Sadik.
The actor, who has won the hearts of millions with her acting, has been living in the USA with her family since 1998, putting an end to her rewarding film career. Throughout her vibrant career that spans over a period of three decades, Shabana has appeared in 299 films among which, she starred opposite Alamgir in 130 of them. On the other hand, Runa Laila, the eminent singer has lent her voice to many of the notable numbers lip synced by Shabana in her films.
Although, the actress is barely seen to attend film related events, she couldn’t deny the invitation of her old time colleagues. Furthermore, the addition of Nashid Kamal, Akhi Alamgir and Runa Laila’s family made the evening, a special one.
The veteran actress started her career opposite Pakistani actor Nadeem in her debut Urdu film Chakori in 1967. Her famous films include the likes of Anari, Chotey Sahab, Chand aur Chandni and Chand Suraj, Maa Jokhon Bicharok, Bhalobashar Ghor, Aashami, Mayer Doa, Shami Keno Ashami, Banglar Badhu, Judge Barrister, Meyerao Manush.
“We have a very good relationship with Alamgir. He is like a family member to us. When Alamgir and Runa invited us over, we couldn’t say no. Even though we don’t go outside much nowadays, the evening was worth remembering. We talked about our old times together,” said Wahid Sadik about their reunion.
However, Shabana has been in Dhaka for the last three months and has visited Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and a few others, upon her return.
