Shinepukur Cricket Club posted a 10-run win over Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Limited in their match of the Bangabandhu Dhaka Premier League (DPL) Cricket at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the city’s Mirpur on Friday.
Batting first Shinepukur Cricket Club piled up a satisfactory total of 137 runs for the loss of five wickets in 20 overs and then all out Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Limited for 127 in 19.5 overs.
Tanjid Hasan Tamim of Shinepukur Cricket Club made 34, while his teammate Robiul Islam scored 34 and Towhid Hridoy made 28. Besides, Sabbir Hossain scored 20 runs.
Pacers Ziaur Rahman and Ebadot Hossain of Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Limited captured two wickets each.
Later, Nasir Hossain of Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Limited scored 28 runs.
Left-arm spinner Tanvir Islam of Shinepukur Cricket Club played the key role in demolishing Sheikh Jamal innings. He captured three wickets in the space of eight runs. Tanvir was adjudged the Man of the Match for his match-winning bowling performance.
It may be mentioned that Mohammad Ashraful of Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Limited failed to shine with the willow on Friday. He was dismissed for just four runs.
Earlier, Ashraful scored 38 and 41 runs respectively in his previous two matches of this year’s Dhaka Premier League Cricket.
