Ferry services on Shimulia-Kathalbari route was halted again this morning after it resumed for four hours only.
Some small ferries started carrying passengers from Shimulia ghat in Munshiganj and Kathalbari ghat in Madaripur around 6 this morning after 12 days of suspension.
However, operations came to a halt again around 10am, reports our Munshiganj correspondent quoting Ahmed Ali, marine manager of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) at Shimulia ghat.
Five ferries started operation this morning through the China Channel beside the 38th pillar of Padma Bridge, said the BIWTC official.
“But soon after Padma Bridge authority asked to not use that route, that’s why the services were halted again,” he added.
