Shimul returns to acting

For the last six months once popular actor Monir Khan Shimul is absent from acting in TV serials. He was outside the country for last five months. Last week he has returned to Bangladesh.
After knowing the news of his returning director Nazrul Islam Raju sent script of his ongoing serial Sunflower. After reading its script Shimul liked the role of
agriculturist Iftekhar Chowdhury. He agreed to work in the serial. Later he took part in shooting of the serial last week. Tareen and Apurbo were his co-actors.
He is very much excited to work in the serial which script was written by Murad.
While talking in this regard Shimul told this correspondent, “In the serial, the role of Ifetakhar Chowdhury is a dream
character for any actor. Any actor always wants to act in such a role. For this reason, I have agreed to work. I never depend on the income of acting so I can easily refuse to work if the work does not attract me. I never want to work in such a role which creates a negative impact in the society.”
Director Raju informed that Shimul will be seen after 30 episodes of serial Sunflower. Shimul last worked in a serial titled Purba under Faisal Rajib’s direction. In last Ramzan, he worked in Nazrul Islam Raju’s play Mon Janala. He impressed
with works of Raju there.
It is noted that Shimul last acted in Saiful Islam Mannu directed movie Putro. His acted first movie was Nasir Uddin Yusuff’s Ekattor-er Jishu. He first acted in Barkat Ullah directed and Morshed Chowdhury scripted a play titled Tension in 1990.
