Shilpi Sarkar Apu’s short film gets nomination for Cannes

Shilpi Sarkar Apu is a noted actress of the country’s small screen. In her long time acting career, Apu acted in many dramas, movies and short films. Apu acted and cinematographer Sahin Roni directed short film The Soul (Manob) is one of her mentionable works. This short film got the nomination for the Cannes Film Festival in category of ‘Best Cinematography.’ Switzerland’s Evan Fredman’s short film Guardians of Paradise and USA’s Cody Newton’s Here Is Where The Monsters Live also got nomination in this category, both Apu and Roni informed the matter yesterday.
After getting the news, Shilpi Sarkar Apu is delighted. She shared her feelings by this way, “In fact, Sahil Roni gave a lot of efforts and sacrificed to make this short film. It was really a great effort by the director. I really enjoyed acting in this film. Other actors also acted well. Basically story of this short film is based on non-communal theme. I wish success for Sahil Roni. I strongly believe he will win the award from Cannes.”
