Viewers can recall the memories of once popular drama serial titled Anwara which was telecasted on Bangladesh Television. Produced by Sheikh Riaz Uddin Badshah, in that serial, noted actress Shilpi Sarkar Apu played the title role which created hype among the viewers. Till now many viewers call her Anwara. After Anwara, Apu also came into limelight acted against Raisul Islam Asad and late Khaled Khan in popular drama serial Ei Sob Dinratri.
After a long time, Apu is coming on the TV screen as Amma (mother). According to her, she will be seen in Masum Shahriar scripted and Abu Hayat Mahmud-directed drama serial Amma where she played the title role. Shooting of the first phase of the serial has already been finished. After lost her husband how a woman passes struggling life with her children will be portrayed in the serial.
Anisur Rahman Milon, Mishu Sabbir, Tania Ahmed and Irin Afrose acted in role of Apu’s children in the serial. Therefore, Faruk Ahmed and Nazia Haque Orsha also acted in other roles in the serial.
While talking about acting in the title role of a serial after a long time Shilpi Sarkar Apu told this correspondent, “During shooting we have to use glycerin to act in the role of crying. But I didn’t use glycerin in the shooting of serial Amma because there were life-oriented dialogue and acting there was no need to use it. I give thanks to Abu Hayat Mahmud to give me the opportunity to play the title role in the serial. I give also thanks to scriptwriter Masum Shahriar to write such a nice script for the serial. I believe the serial Amma will become a popular serial to all. This serial will be aired in a satellite TV channel soon.”
