Shilpakala Padak 2019, 2020 given to 18 persons, 2 orgs

Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy handed over Shilpakala Padak for the years 2019 and 2020 to 18 individuals and two cultural organisations for their contribution to cultural sector at an awards ceremony held at the National Theatre Hall at Segunbagicha in the capital on Thursday, said a press release.
President Abdul Hamid virtually participated in the programme as chief guest and read out a written speech. Home minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal and Cultural Affairs Secretary Md Abul Monsur were present as special guests at the event, which was presided over by State Minister for Cultural Affairs KM Khalid. Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy Director General Liaquat Ali Lucky delivered the welcome speech at the event.
The recipients of Silpakala Padak 2019 were Mohammad Moniruzzaman in instrumental music category, Lubna Marium in dance, Hasina Momtaz in vocal, Abdul Mannan in fine arts, Masud Ali Khan in dramatics, M A Taher in photography, Shamvu Acharaya in folklore, Hasan Arif in recitation, Anupam Hayat in film and cultural institution Chhayanaut in creative cultural organisation.
Lubna Marium’s son Kushan Omar Sufi and Hasan Arif’s sister Rabeya Rowshan received the awards on behalf of the awardees while Laisa Ahmed Lisa, General Secretary of Chhayanaut, received the award on behalf of her organisation.
The recipients of Silpakala Padak 2020 were Shamsur Rahman in instrumental music category, Shibli Mohammad in dance, Mahmudur Rahman Benu in vocal, Shahid Kabir in fine arts, Malay Bhowmick in dramatics, Shafiqul Islam Swapan in photography, Shah Alam Sarkar in folklore, Dahlia Ahmed in recitation, Shameem Akhtar in film and Dinajpur Nattya Samity in creative cultural organisation.
Mahmudur Rahman Benu’s daughter-in-law Sujana Ansar and Dalia Ahmed’s husband Salahuddin Razzak received the award on behalf of the awardees while Dinajpur Nattya Samity President Chitta Dutta received the award on behalf his organisation.
Each awardee has received Tk1,00,000, a medal and a certificate.
