UNB, Chapainawabganj :
An activist of Islami Chhatra Shibir was hacked to death by his rivals in Phulkuri Islami Academy area of the district town on Thursday morning.
The deceased was identified as Ariful Islam,17, a first year student of Nababganj City College and son of Rahjan Ali, a resident of Rehaichar village of the town.
Officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station Golam Mortuza said a group of his rivals chopped Ariful indiscriminately in the area around 9:00 am when he was going to college, leaving him dead on the spot.
Informed, police recovered the body at about 11:00 am and sent it to Chapainawabganj Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy. The body bore several injury marks, added the OC.
