Chittagong district police arrested an Islami Chhatra Shibir (ICS) leader from east Chambol area under Banskhali upazila on Saturday night.
The arrested ICS leader was identified as Mohammad Ripon, 24, son of
Moulavi Mohammad Jahangir, hailing from east Chambol village of Banskhali upazila of the district.
On receipt of secret information, a team of Banskhali thana police arrested Ripon from east Chambol village of Banskhali upazila of the district at 2am last night.
He was wanted in eight cases on acts of sabotage and vandalism in different police stations, Swpan Kumar Mozumdar, officer in Charge of Banskhali thana police said.
Police recovered one Light Gun and two run bullets from his possession.
