The album launching ceremony of promising Tagore artiste Shemonty Monjari’s debut solo album titled Rangiye Diye Jao was held at Bengal Shilpalaya in the city’s Dhanmondi area recently.
Noted Tagore artistes Mita Haque and
Fahmida Khatun were present at the album launching ceremony.
The audio album, released under the
banner of Bengal
Foundation, consisting of 10 tracks from the Bosonto (spring)
segment of Gitobitan.
Title of the songs are: Aji dokhin-duar khola, Basonti hey bhubanmohini, O chand Tomai dola, Eki labonnye, Sei to boshonto phirey elo, Fagun-hawai Rongey rongey, Jodi taar-e nai chini go, Ektuku chhoya lagey, Tumi kichhu diye jao and Rangiye diye jao.
Shemonty Monjari
started her musical career at an early age. She trained in Rabindra Sangeet at Chhayanaut Sangeet Vidyayatan in Dhaka, where she
completed her
eight-year long course and achieved first class first position in the final certificate
examination.
She also achieved
first-class first position in the national
competition on Rabindra Sangeet
organised by Jatiyo Rabindra Sangeet
Sammilon Parishad
in 2011.
