Bangladesh’s Professional league champion Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra had their first training session at the Kalania Football Complex ground in Colombo.
This ground is situated about twenty kilometers away from the player’s hotel.
The Biplob and Co. concentrated one and half hours general practice and fitness under the supervision team’s head coach Dragan Dukanovic. Twenty booters split into two groups also played a thirty minutes warm-up match, according to a message
received here from Colombo this evening at BFF office.
Team captain Biplob Bhattacharjee said: “We have come with the intention to qualify for the next round after becoming the group champions and if the boys were able to give their best, it is possible to beat all the opponents in this group.
The experienced custodian said thinks though the team mostly composed of young stars, but he got a good balance side for the tournament with number old seasons campaigners are there to provide the real balance of the team.
The professional league champions Sheikh Russel KC who are placed in group A along with Sri Lanka Air Force SC, KRL Football Club of Pakistan and Ugyen Academy FC of Bhutan, will play their opening match against KRL Football Club on May 7.
Sheikh Russel will play their remaining group matches against Sri Lanka Air Force SC and Ugyen Academy FC on May 9 and 11 respectively. All the matches will be played at the Sugathadasa Stadium.
Earlier, on Sunday, a 32-memeber of Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra team left for Colombo to take part in the AFC Presidents Cup.
