Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra will commemorate the birthday of Sheikh Russel, the youngest son of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, by launching a school table tennis (TT)
tournament that begins today (Tuesday) at the Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Indoor Stadium in the city.
Some 260 students including 25 autistic children from 41 different schools will take part in the four-day tournament. The participants will compete in seven different events — boys’ singles, boys’ team, girls’ singles, girls’ team, boys’ sub-junior, girls’ sub-junior and autistic singles.
Bashundhara Group and Bashundhara Cement will jointly sponsor the event which has a budget estimated at Taka 15 lakh.
