Sheikh Russel KC made a good start in the season’s first soccer meet — KFC Independence Day Football Tournament — beating Arambagh KS by 2-1 goals coming from behind at the Bangabandhu National Stadium here on Tuesday.
Armabagh KS took lead in the very 3rd minute of the match astonishing star-studded Sheikh Russel KC.
Nigerian forward Kester Akon opened the account for Arambagh KC by an angular shot beating opponent defender off a through pass of medio
Shadauzzaman Palash (1-0).
But the joy of Armabgah KS lasted for just a minute as Sheikh Russel’s fresh Ethiopian recruit Fikru Zeida scored the equaliser in the 4th minute displaying his brilliance.
As Arambagh defence failed to clear a quickly taken free kick by Atikur Rahman Mishu, Fikru took control of the ball and placed it home by a cool shot beating Arambagh goalie Mitul Hasan (1-1).
