Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra was forced by Farashganj Sporting Club Limited to play a 2-2 goal draw in the Manyavar Bangladesh Premier League held on Thursday at the Bangabandhu National Stadium.
In the day’s match, Sheikh Russel went ahead in the 12th minute when Jamaican midfielder Akim Sayeed curved a free kick from the midfield and forward Jahid Hasan Emily placed the ball into the far post net (1-0).
Sheikh Russel increased the margin double in the 27th minute through Cameroonian forward Paul Emile, Mithun Chowdhury made his way through the left flank and passed the ball to Emile who placed the ball into the net (2-0).
Old Dhaka ‘outfit’ Farashganj reduced the margin in the 35th minute as Shahanur Rahman headed an Akinleye Peter cross past Russel goalie Sujan Chowdhury (2-1).
After the resumption, Farashganj finally restored the parity in the 72nd minute as midfielder Shankar Das put a low shot into the middle of the net on a through pass of Akinleye Peter (2-2).
With the day’s outcome, Russel secured 13 points from 7 matches while Farashganj also collected 3 points from same number of outings.
