Sheikh Russel KC earned a 2-0 goals victory over Muktijoddha Sangsad KC in the 17th round opener of the JB Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) at the MA Aziz Stadium in the port city of Chittagong on Saturday.
Jean Jules Ikanga scored both the goals for the former champions Sheikh Russel KC in the 36th and 81st minutes.
Despite the day’s defeat, the freedom fighters team Muktijoddha remained at 5th slot in the 12-team league securing 23 points from 17 matches while Sheikh Russel KC moved to the 8th slot collecting 19 points from 17 encounters.
