Bangladesh Athletics Federation (BAF), with a view to groom the stars of the future inaugurated the Sheikh Kamal Athletics Academy at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Saturday.
Though the academy was inaugurated, the training program of the selected athletes will start next month. The activities of the academy will not be limited only on the athletics training; it would also focus upon the judges and umpires courses.
Syed Shahed Reza, the secretary general of Bangladesh Olympic Association was the chief guest on the occasion. “Sheikh Kamal was not only a great organizer but also a great visionary, we would work together to implement his sports visions” said Reza, who was also a close friend of Sheikh Kamal.
BAF president Ali Kabir and other officials were also present on the occasion.
