Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club will face Tampines Rovers of Singapore in their Group-E dead rubber of the AFC Cup at Bangabandhu National Stadium here today (Tuesday).
The 5th group match of Sheikh Jamal will begin at 6:30 pm Bangladesh time.
Satellite channel Star Sports and Fox Sports will telecast the match live.
On the eve of the match, Sheikh Jamal DC head coach Shafiqul Islam Manik informed that his team have injury problems apart from player crisis.
“I’ve less opportunity to make good technique for tomorrow’s (Tuesday) match as I’ve not enough players to replace during the match,” said Manik at the pre-match press conference at Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) House on Monday.
“Besides, some players are suffering from injuries. Despite, the overall situation is not in favour of my team, we will try our best to play attacking football tomorrow,” Manik continued.
“I’ve managed some players from other clubs, if they give their 100 percent and luck favours us against the well prepared rivals, we can hope for something good,” the crisis-prone Sk Jamal head coach said.
Manik lamented that they could not materialise their dream to clinch the AFC Cup as they could not get enough number of players in time and lack of other necessary steps.
On the other hand, Tampines Rovers head coach Sundoram Moorthy does not want to take Sk Jamal lightly saying, “They (Sheikh Jamal) had good performance in away match and is always a tough opponent.”
“This is a very important match for us and we are well prepared with more or less changes in the side. We’ll try our best to get the points from tomorrow’s match,” Moorthy said.
