Defending champions Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club take on Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited in a crucial match of JB Bangladesh Premier League football which resumes today (Sunday) at Bangabandhu National Stadium.
The match kicks off at 5.45 pm. Earlier in the afternoon, Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra will take on Arambagh Krira Sangha in the day’s other fixture that begins at 3 pm.
Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club at the third position with the collection of 30 points from 20 matches with Muktijoddha Sangshad Kria Chakra not very far behind as they have collected 29 points from 20 outings.
Dhaka Mohammedan are now not in the best of form as they are languishing in the tenth position with eighteen points from the same number of outings. Sadly they are just above the relegation zone with
Uttar Baridhara Club on 17 points and bottom-ranked Soccer Club, Feni on 15 points are not very far behind Dhaka Mohammedan. This match is important match in a sense, a win for Sheikh Russell will insure their place at the third place while a win for Dhaka Mohammedans will help them comfortably to avoid relegation race.
On the other hand, Sheikh Russel are placed in seventh position with 24 points from 20 matches while Arambagh Krira Sangha are find themselves at eight position after securing 23 points.
Title aspirant Dhaka Abahani Limited seems to be on the right track as they are on the top of the table with 46 points from twenty matches.
However their Chittagong namesake Chittagong Abahani Limited are close to the heel of the sky blue Dhanmondi ‘outfit’ Dhaka Abahani with 43 points from the same number of matches and one feels that this the round which may decide the who is going to be the champions of this prestigious league.
